Attention challenges may impact one’s functioning in many environments. In order to determine if you meet criteria for an attention related diagnosis, a psychologist will conduct a thorough assessment for you, involving clinical and cognitive tests.

If a diagnosis is warranted, areas of strengths and challenges will be identified, as well as recommendations and strategies.

Results from an assessment may also be used for medication consultations with other treating healthcare professionals, for insurance purposes and other accommodations.

Psychological assessments and mental health evaluations consist of clinical interviews and the administration of scientific, evidence-based questionnaires. The results are used to help a psychologist understand the nature of a client’s difficulties.
